Exhibition during Asia Week Hong Kong - Exotica: Latest Works of Li Huayi

“Exotica” is the fruit of artist Li Huayi’s adventures through Xinjiang and Zhejiang provinces. As if holding a drop of ancient ink, bequeathed to Li by the masters of the Song Dynasty, he revitalises and transforms it into unprecedented three- dimensional dreamscapes, opening a new direction for Chinese ink painting in the 21st century.

Li Huayi, who has exhibited internationally, was honoured with a Leadership Award in 2015 by the Asia Society in Northern California. His works are widely collected by prestigious museums, including the Art Institute of Chicago, the Asian Art Museum of San Francisco, the Cleveland Museum of Art, Harvard University Art Museum, and the British Museum.
