Masterpieces from the Nyingjei Lam Collection of Buddhist Sculpture at Bonhams this October

This October, Bonhams holds three auctions featuring the finest art from all over the globe. Bonhams Hong Kong presents eight museum-quality sculptures from one of the world's most important collections of Himalayan Art, marvellous Chinese paintings from the Reverend Richard Fabian Collection as well as exceptional Southeast Asian art, jewelry and adornment from the 19th century.

Bonhams will be holding auctions for the masterpieces of the esteemed Nyingjei Lam Collection, featuring the finest Buddhist Sculpture in the sale "Path of Compassion - Masterpieces of Buddhist Sculpture". The eight works on offer were previously on long-term loan for more than ten years to the Rubin Museum of Art, New York. Spanning a millennium from seventh century Nepal to 17th century Tibet, these museum-quality sculptures represent the beauty at the best condition of its own types.

Bonhams is the first to present online sales in an International Auction House on tradition Southeast Asian art, jewelry and adornment which can be dated back to the 19th Century. There are more than 90 pairs of earrings and ancient gold rings which has existed from the 8th to the 20th century presented in the sale of "Fine Southeast Asian Arts". More than that, eight Balinese gold kris handles with some precious gemstones and beautiful rubies will also be on sale. This deal is offered to celebrate the expressive diversity of art from a variety of cultures in that region.

Ren YI (1840-1895) Figures in Landscape, 1881

Bonhams has secured one of America's premier private collections of Modern Chinese paintings for sale. Comprising over 280 works in total, the sale of "The Reverend Richard Fabian Collection of Chinese Paintings" spans from the Kangxi and Qianlong period to the 1980's, encompassing every major school with examples by such masters as Ren Yi, Xugu, Wu Changshuo, Qi Baishi, Huang Binhong, Xu Beihong, Zhang Daqian, Fu Baoshi, and Li Keran, among others. A selected group of 38 works will debut at Bonhams Hong Kong on 9th October. The auction takes place on 9 October, 10am at Bonhams Hong Kong Gallery.
