Bonhams
Bonhams is a privately owned British auction house and one of the world’s largest auctioneers of fine art and antiques, with a history dating back to 1793. The Bonhams name is recognised worldwide throughout all sectors of the fine art, antiques, motorcars and collectors’ market, with several of its departments established world leaders within their specialist category. Operating out of its major salerooms in London, New York, Hong Kong, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Sydney, and a number of off -site locations, Bonhams conducts some 400 sales annually. The group also has a worldwide network of offices and regional representatives in 25 countries offering sales advice and valuation services in 60 specialist areas. Bonhams’ presence in Asia began in 2007 with the launch of auctions in Hong Kong. Rapid expansion in the region saw the opening of offices in Taipei, Tokyo, Beijing, Singapore and a prestigious dedicated saleroom in Hong Kong in May 2014. During its short but imaginative period of expansion in the region, Bonhams has pioneered the introduction of new regular specialist auction categories in Hong Kong to great success and achieved numerous world record prices for Chinese snuff bottle, Yixing pottery, Sri Lankan sapphire and diamond ring and Leica camera.
